Should I Schedule a Cleaning?
We’ve been getting a lot of calls recently asking about our carpet cleaning services in response to the current pandemic. We recommend that you should schedule a cleaning right now. Of course the choice is yours, however, the CDC does state that cleaning is one of the best practices for the prevention of COVID-19. Not to mention, we are all trying to play catch up on the spring-cleaning season.
Does the CDC give advice about in-home cleaning such as carpet, rugs, and furniture?
Yes! According to the CDC, for soft surfaces such as carpeted floor, rugs, and drapes, you should remove visible contamination if present and clean with appropriate cleaners indicated for use on these surfaces.
After cleaning: launder items as appropriate in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. If possible, launder items using the warmest appropriate water setting for the items and dry items completely or use products with the EPA-approved emerging viral pathogens claims.
How can Peerless help reduce the spread of COVID-19?
The CDC provides a variety of recommendations to protect you and your family. As long as you practice these recommendations from the CDC your odds of coming into contact with COVID-19 are reduced. The CDC does provide a list of recommendations on how to protect your home. The CDC states that “Cleaning of visibly dirty surfaces followed by disinfection is a best practice measure for prevention of COVID-19 and other viral respiratory illnesses in households and community settings”.
Cleaning refers to the removal of germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces. It does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infection.
